This text is taken from wikipedia (source of information)

In the strictest sense, the term describes any information system that integrates, stores, edits, analyzes, shares, and displays geographic information. In a more generic sense, GIS applications are tools that allow users to create interactive queries (user created searches), analyzespatial information, edit data, maps, and present the results of all these operations. Geographic information science is the science underlying the geographic concepts, applications and systems, taught in degree and GIS Certificate programs at many universities.

thats GIS...not for geodesy, spatial analyst, cartographers or educators...anyone can play GIS...before only them can use GIS because its very expensive to work with it...right now....even a mere mE....can use it...

starting now...ill post some files and information regarding san carlos...and other places...with NO MONETARY value just purely INFORMATION sharing...not PIRACY>..because it states on the Creative Commons...

What is Creative Commons License?

Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creativeworks available for others to build upon legally and to share.[1] The organization has released several copyright licenses known as Creative Commons licenses. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of other creators.
